Beagles
Most beagles are not obtained through a rescue but from kennels.
Their strong hunting instinct can get in the way of obedience and good behavior. If they take on an interesting scent, it is difficult to get their attention back. That’s why obedience training is a must for these hounds. It may save the dog’s life and prevent an accident. These amiable dogs make loyal, trustworthy, and agile family companions. Their hunting instincts are rather strong, but with early socialization and proper training, they can disappear.

Beagles -
rescue, kennels
These are scenting hounds that are cute and compact in appearance and lively in temperament. These hounds strive for exercise and outdoor activities, and therefore, require plenty of attention on the owner’s part. Their short coat is relatively easy to groom. Smart and versatile, these dogs are not highly trainable. Housebreaking these hounds may take up to a year, if the owner is not firm enough and cannot control the dog. Some dogs of this breed are never reliable. Often, the dogs of this breed are rather stubborn and don’t respond to drill. Variable and interesting exercises outdoors are very effective with these hounds. Most beagles are not obtained through a rescue but from kennels.
